Join us for an engaging workshop on the essentials of rubric design, equipping you with the skills to create effective assessment tools. You’ll learn what rubrics are, why they’re crucial in higher education, and how to use them to enhance assessment transparency, support student demonstration of learning, and facilitate overall student growth in the discipline. This will also include rubric creation through Moodle, PebblePad, Padlet, and Copilot.

Through interactive activities, you’ll identify and correct common design errors as well as align rubrics with learning outcomes and assessment criteria that will refine your rubric design skills. Plus, you’ll get practical strategies for creating clear, specific, and aligned rubrics that communicate expectations effectively. Strategies will also include rubric design aligned with permitting and not permitting GenAI to be used to complete an assignment.

By the end of this workshop, participants will also create a rubric that they can use for an assessment in their course that accurately assesses student performance and enriches their learning experience. Don’t miss this chance to transform your assessment practices and boost evaluation effectiveness!
