The Instructional Skills for Lab Instructors workshop is designed for those teaching labs in the Faculty of Science. Instructional labs are an integral part of science education, and provide unique, hands-on learning opportunities for students. In this 90-minute online workshop, we will explore the ideas in Bloom’s Taxonomy and Constructive Alignment, and how we can apply those principles to laboratory teaching. Participants will be able to use those principles to plan and implement assessments.

Through engaging in the activities and content of this workshop, you have the opportunity to:  
    • Use Bloom’s Taxonomy to write effective learning outcomes
    • Explain the principles of Constructive Alignment
    • Apply the principles of Constructive Alignment to laboratory learning activities and assessments
