Learning outcomes have existed for generations, however their use in post-secondary education is relatively recent. Since the mid 90s educators have been using learning outcomes to center their lessons on students, to provide clarity around content, and flexibility to instruction. Administratively outcomes have provided guidance for curriculum development, clarity around quality assurance practices and consistency to program descriptions across institutions, provinces and countries. This workshop will explore the history, use and development of learning outcomes at a variety of levels for KPU and will focus some attention to Course level learning outcomes.

By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
    • Develop structurally sound and meaningful learning outcomes.
    • Rewrite existing learning outcomes
    • Align outcomes and assessments
