Workshop
description
Digital
literacy skills, including using various technologies and critically evaluating
digital sources and information, are essential for today's graduates. Educators
must also possess these skills to incorporate digital tools and technologies to
support learners effectively, help learners find relevant information, and
identify gaps in their learners' digital skill development.
Amidst a pandemic, and with so many new and emerging technologies available,
educators can quickly feel overwhelmed and might not have had sufficient
Professional Development (PD) opportunities to cultivate their digital literacy
skills, leaving them scrambling to support their learners.
This two hour experiential workshop will allow KPU educators to pause, evaluate
their digital literacy skills, identify areas for growth, and consider
strategies to increase their digital literacy to better support their
learners.
Learning outcomes
(1) Evaluate digital literacy skills for teaching and learning,
(2) Identify areas for growth and development, and
(3) Consider strategies to increase digital literacy
